About Deborah
Deborah Davis Hurwitz is an award-winning communications/marketing professional with experience in technology, financial services, education, nonprofits and broadcast news. Her specialties include content strategy and execution, branding, DE&I, public relations, digital storytelling, executive communications, and video production. Deborah has interviewed and created stories featuring former U.S. Presidents, members of Congress, Pulitzer Prize winners and has extensive experience working with C-Suite executives and subject-matter experts.
As a manager of Employee Engagement for Accenture Technology, Deborah led marketing campaigns for Human Resources, Cloud, Cybersecurity, and a UK-based government partner, among others. She managed DEI communications, providing engaging content to celebrate PRIDE, Black and African Americans, Hispanic Americans and Latinx, Asian Pacific Americans, and employees with physical and invisible disabilities.
During her tenure at the College Board, Deborah successfully promoted the organization’s initiatives by collaborating with executives, higher education professionals, K-12 educators, and strategic partners to produce videos, op-eds, blogs, press materials, and social media messaging. She also used her background in broadcast news to effectively media train the organization’s top executives, preparing them for all print and broadcast interviews. As the College Board’s first video lead, she produced over 4,000 instructional and promotional videos, lending her expertise to executives from every department, including Advanced Placement, the SAT Suite of Assessments, and College Access - on messaging, script writing, casting, directing, vendor selection and budget management. These videos were distributed across all social media channels, the web and shown at live events in the United States and India.
While working as an Editorial Producer for CNN, Deborah won an Emmy (for her collaboration on an “Exporting America” series) and a Peabody (for team coverage of Hurricane Katrina) by making complex stories both tangible and compelling. She has always used her keen sense of content development and strategy to reach organizational goals.
Deborah is a cross-functional team leader with a proven track record of engaging and motivating a wide range of diverse audiences. She has a bachelor of arts in English Literature and a minor in Art History from Barnard College, Columbia University.
